There were studies showing the dangers of smoking and the chemicals contained in cigarettes through the years. However, when you consider the dangers of the cigarettes, it really is evident that the dangers of vapour are much worse. According to Health Canada’s site on Tobacco, the majority of electronic cigarettes contain at least one compound that is deemed a possible human carcinogen. The compounds are thought to be nicotine and its own metabolite, dopamine. Other compounds include benzene, toluene and other chemicals.

These carcinogenic and addictive agents make vapor highly addictive behavior. Because of this, all vapor devices will need to have a guard to prevent over-consumption. Yet, the guard is not easy to spot. Because of this, almost all voters have no way of determining if they’re overheating their system by inhaling vapour, or if they are addicted to vapour. It is because vapor can be an entirely different drug than nicotine and contains very different physical and psychological effects.

A recent study published in the Journal of Nicotine Research has linked two key ingredients found in most Vaporizers, guarana and caffeine, with causing an addiction to nicotine. The research was completed on lab rats that have been injected with nicotine and then given a non-nicotine solution to test the reaction. The findings were alarming. The rats in the test group showed no signs to be dependent on nicotine, but those given the caffeine showed a marked difference in behaviour when given just a puff of air containing guarana. The caffeine was shown to cause respiratory damage, and the guarana seemed to trigger a dopamine release in the mind, which resulted in the increased stimulation of the nicotine receptors in the mind.

So, do you know the dangers of vaping? The initial danger is the addiction potential. Nicotine is highly addictive and incredibly difficult to wean oneself off of completely. It is also passed from one person Vape Pens to another through skin contact. Also, it generally does not metabolise in your body, so any excess nicotine could build up in your body, causing respiratory damage, or causing an elevated threat of cancer.
